Gary Eck is one of Australia’s most popular & versatile stand-up comedians whose sharp wit has been entertaining Australian and international audiences for nearly two decades. He is also an accomplished writer, actor and director. A graduate of Canberra University with a BA in Marketing and Advertising, Gary’s career has taken him all round the world from Edinburgh to Paris to New York and London.
Gary has won the world’s largest short film competition, Tropfest, with his short film entitled The Money (2004). A collection of Gary’s shorts recently screened in a special one-hour programme on the Comedy Channel entitled, Ecks Rated Shorts. Gary recently released a stand-up comedy CD, Gary Eck Live! and has been nominated for an ARIA award for comedy album The Hollywood Motel.
GB started doing Stand Up – October of 2008 at Club Alchemy. He was the First Runner-Up in the Hong Kong International Comedy Festival 2010. In 2011 he represented the Philippines at “Laugh Off Asia” held in Singapore. Since then GB has been doing shows around the Philippines and Asia. His first headlining act abroad was in 2011 at Comedy Masala Singapore. 2012 he was featured at The Comedy Club Asia together with Imran Yusuf (UK) and Allyson Smith (CAN).
Gb is also one of the writers of ABS CBN’s GOIN’ BULILIT and he continues to organize Open Mics in Manila as the founder of Comedy Manila – to make sure there is a mic and stage available to all aspiring Filipino comedian.

writes and performs the most committed, knottiest, issue-comedy shows on
the Fringe” Chortle is on a one year world comedy tour.
He is one of Ireland’s most traveled comedians having sold out rooms in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Byron Bay, Sydney, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Netherlands, USA and now he is proud to be returning to Edinburgh as part of ‘Heroes of the Fringe’ for his fifth solo show, The Money Shot.
