A panel featuring 5 authors of essays in the 2016 Birthday Book has a variety of views on the subject. ​Mr Aaron Maniam, an award-winning poet, was the first head of the Centre for Strategic Futures, working with futurists both locally and globally to analyse long-term trends relevant to Singapore. He is currently Director of the Industry Division at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Ms Bernise Ang, Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum, leads methodology development for projects tackling urbanisation challenges facing government clients from developing countries as well as Singapore at Zeroth Labs. This includes blending of methods from anthropology, data analysis, design, behavioural science, lean startup method, and others. Ms Kia Jiehui, Senior Sustainability Advisor, Forum For the Future. She helps businesses in the region to use trends, visions and scenarios to map their route to a sustainable future. Mr Malminderjit Singh, Editor of the Birthday Book and former journalist, was previously the Executive Director of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is currently a Senior Writer at SMU and the Founder of Terra Consulting. He is the President of the Young Sikhs Association and a founding member of SYC. Mr Rishi Budhrani was the first Singaporean stand-up comedian to win the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition in 2012, and the first Singaporean comedian to perform at top international clubs like the Gotham Comedy Club in New York and The Comedy and Magic Club in LA. A versatile actor, Rishi's recent TV credits include Channel 5's OK CHOPE (Singapore's first ever LIVE comedy panel show), Comedy Central's Stand-up Asia. He conducts one-of-a-kind humour and role-play based public speaking workshops for youths under his company, Complete Communicators.The panel will be moderated by Mr Rahul Daswani, an intrapreneur who has worked in the private, non-profit and government sectors. He started his career at McKinsey South-East Asia, and was seconded to the government of Papua New Guinea to start up the Office of Climate Change and Development.
