How does writing in the different genres – fiction, drama, literary translation – help the craft of translation? How did the award-winning writer/playwright/translator get his break and how has he shaped his career thus far? Furthermore, being a founding member of the translators collective Cedilla & Co, based in the US, how does he see his role as an active member in the literary community? We sit down with Jeremy for an informal tête-à-tête to find out about all these and more, and also to answer all your burning questions. This talk is supported by City Book Room.Read an excerpt from the upcoming translation of Yeng Pway Ngon's Opera Costume in the Words Without Borders Singapore issue, guest edited by The Select Centre.SUPPORT US!The Select Centre is a not-for-profit and registered charity.
