Sampling: Capture Sound & Get Creative Technology has opened up a whole new world of creativity for many aspiring musicians, and we are going to help you forge your very own one-of-a-kind tune! Join Reuben Samuel, an Ableton Certified Trainer and founder of Mile High Sounds and learn basic recording fundamentals using everyday sounds, and even household items such as kitchen utensils and furniture. Get creative and merge these sounds with popular music beats. Speaker:Reuben Samuel is a graduate from the Sonic Arts (BSc Hons) programme from Middlesex University (London), Audio Engineering from SAE, and an Ableton Certified Trainer. In 2009, he founded Mile High Sounds (MHS), a Malaysian-based company focused on developing educational solutions for individuals, groups and brands in audio & music production, with the Ableton Live production platform powering the core of MHS’ offerings. In Malaysia, Reuben has provided production services for a wide variety of clients including Oreo, Disney Asia, Time.dot.com, DHL India, Maxis, Hotlink, Nestle and Volkswagen. Local heroes including Zee Avi, Yuna, Namewee, Shawn Lee, Vince Chong, Bo Amir Iqram, Jean-Pierre Lantieri, Gerard Singh, Junji Delfino, Daniel Veerapen and Noryn Aziz are some of the musicians he had the pleasure of working with, be it mixing, mastering and production. As a producer, remixer and regular DJ on the circuit, he also goes under the moniker Blastique for more electronic-based projects.
