Personal stories, drama games, introspective activities, and dramatic improvisation, come together in an eclectic mix. Playback Theatre is a community theatre based on personal stories. We will begin gently by looking within ourselves, perhaps by dancing, perhaps by drawing, perhaps by writing, perhaps through playing games together. We will connect with one another and find hearts and souls willing to listen and willing to create a collective wisdom for understanding and change. We will look within ourselves to find what we want to share, and hear our stories in one another’s journeys. We will share our own stories and connect with one another in a Theatre of Neighbours. Whoever comes, are the right people. Whatever we embark upon is the right journey. No experience in any artistic pursuit is necessary. All you need is an open heart and an adventurous spirit.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is the first of a regular Pay-As-You-Wish series hosted by NVPC's A Good Space. It is intended to use playback theatre and other creative arts practices for self-development and community building.The sessions will be facilitated by Michael Cheng, an applied theatre practitioner. He is Vice-chair of the Centre for Playback Theatre, and a practitioner-member of the International Playback Theatre Network. In Singapore, he is with Tapestry Playback Theatre, where he is Artistic Director, and with 3 Cups of Kopi Playback Theatre.As a practitioner, he works extensively with people with special needs and youth.
