Participants will then be guided to develop their own characters too. Co-taught with her husband Yao Shuohan (MOE-trained teacher), this workshop will be taught using her picture books, and will help children to identify elements in a narrative structure, such as plot, characters, setting, theme and point of view (to build up suspense and conflict). Her books has been distributed to over 700 children and is used as a teaching aid in local primary schools. She was also invited to be a part of Talking Books on 93.8FM’s with Michelle Martin. With a teaching career of over a decade in St. Joseph's Institution, Swiss Cottage Secondary School, and Riverside Secondary, Teacher Shuohan is a sought-after teacher for his ability to teach the English language in a clear, easy-to-understand manner, paired with fun and engaging lesson plans.
