A new year has arrived, and as you know, here in Tokyo there's never a shortage of reasons to go out and have a good time. Come and celebrate 2014 with us on a high note at our first ever ever SHINNENKAI (new year celebration) party. Champaign, anyone? THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY! Finished with work? Don't have a job? Sleeping on a couch? Grab a friend and let's crawl. If you don't have any friends, we have plenty to spare (lots of people come alone, don't worry). --Quick summary: • We will visit 3 - 4 bars/clubs• Find new bars and new people while exploring Tokyo • Everyone moves together in one big, happy, group• Free welcome shots• Awesome drink discounts (only for attendees)• Many chances to win free drinks - Games and Contests--Pub Crawl Handbook (About the Bars)• Bar 1 (7:45pm ~ 9:10pm)Hobgoblin in Shibuya, a long time Tokyo favorite. Lots of great beers on tap from Japan and around the world. One of the few places in Tokyo to grab a true pint of cider as well. The cocktails are also yummy. Feel relaxed in the classic British pub atmosphere as you get to know fellow pub crawlers and start mingling. We will do a kick-off speech, followed by a group toast and welcome shots. Food is available for purchase.• Bar 2 (9:10pm ~ 10:10pm)As we make our way to the next bar (perhaps with a special surprise along the way), the group will be ready to bring it up a notch. This Japanese style "rock bar" comes fully stocked with music, attitude, and cheap drinks. If you feel the urge to dance, you won't be alone on the floor, although some of you want to sit down at a table and have a chat with fellow crawlers instead. The rest of us can be found around the back tables playing drinking games and getting each other drunk. • Bar 3 (10:10pm ~ 11:30pm)By now, the crowd has loosened up and inhibitions are flying out the window! Our 3rd bar in Shibuya features a spacious dance floor, house DJ, karaoke stage, and, a few places to sit down and lay low (not sure why you'd want to). The games and contests continue here, so best to follow the crowd if you're looking to get in on the action. Hang out near the stage if you're willing to embarrass yourself for free booze. NOTE: Although you're free to stay at the club as long as you'd like, the Tokyo pub crawl officially ends at 11:30pm, providing you plenty of time to catch your last train.
