It consists of a virtual walk in Tiong Bahru estate followed by an online workshop on developing skills in writing and photography. Participants can join either session, e.g. (11th and 19th, or 11th and 18th or 12th and 19th). Do note that while the event is free, there are limited spaces, especially for the workshop, so registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis only. WalkMarc will bring participants through the streets and alleyways of Tiong Bahru, leading them to various landmark sites and spaces. He will stop to point out viewpoints and vistas to photograph and will also read poems by him and other writers that respond to particular sites and spaces in Tiong Bahru, which offer different perspectives to this storied estate. Participants will be guided to pen their own creative reflections through various prompts offered during the walk. WorkshopThe workshop builds on the idea of using photography and creative writing to develop different ways of seeing. The workshop will be interactive, with participants expected to develop creative responses during the course of the workshop. They will also learn the following: Understand basic composition techniques in photography Understand various ways to structure a simple narrative Adopt selected literary techniques in presenting a photo-narrative  Create and present a short photo-essay using either poetry or flash fiction Artist BioMarc Nair is a poet and photographer from Singapore. He has published ten volumes of poetry. A recipient of the 2016 Young Artist Award, he is currently pursuing projects that involve photography and creative non-fiction.About Silver Arts 2021Silver Arts advocates the meaningful possibilities seniors have in the arts.  Organised by the National Arts Council since 2012, Silver Arts is an annual festival that highlights the significance of arts engagement in enhancing the well-being of seniors and people around them.
