Part of a series on SerendipityABOUT THE SPEAKERRobert Meeder is a creative professional, world traveler, educator and advocate for sustainability.Robert’s specialities include strategy & communications within the luxury fashion segment, creative concept & product development, client liaison & project management, and international brand & product launches. Robert has always been actively involved in academia through out his career; having written and developed a Master’s program in Fashion Management, lectured for the past 8 years and undertaken the first stages of his Ph.D in Luxury Management and Communications with the Swedish University of Borås.Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Robert was based in Dubai where he established a successful creative marketing agency with key clients in Singapore, USA, Europe and the Middle East. Robert’s company offered services from concept, brand and strategy development through to creative direction and production on campaigns for TV, print and digital. Robert has a grounded corporate marketing background, having worked with leading French, Italian and British luxury brands such as Burberry, Mulberry, Bacarrat, Gucci, Bottega Venetta and Dolce Gabbana in Scandinavia and the Middle East.Robert’s notable successes include founding, publishing and launching two international fashion magazines, consulting in development and establishing Dubai Design week as part of Dubai Design District and establishing the Communications division for Gucci Group within the Nordic Market. Robert is an active contributor to media titles and firmly believes in the importance of linking industry to university.Robert holds a B.A. in Fashion Design (Womenswear) Designskolen Kolding, and an M.A. in Fashion Design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation. Robert is currently Professor of Luxury Fashion Management at Savannah College of Art and Design. Robert is also an advisory member of the Hong Kong Institute of Design Incubation program and continues to be an advisory member and speaker at the Arab Luxury Summit in Dubai.
