Come & explore one of Singapore's most colourful neighbourhoods - the Duxton area of Chinatown.Now seen as one of the hippest areas in town, with its famous Pinnacle HDB complex, and gems such as the 1929 hotel, it has had many different chapters in its interesting history - home to clan associations, temples and one of our most notorious red light districts.Amongst the many highlights of this walking tour will be a tour of the Millionaire's Club and a close look at the musical instruments at the Siong Leng Musical association, both in Bukit Pasoh Rd. Plus a visit to the Kong Chow Wui Koon clan association (one of the oldest in Singapore) in New Bridge Rd to admire their amazing heritage artefacts, and a stroll along Keng Saik Rd which will include a visit to the Kong Tee Peng Temple.We will also walk along some of the Duxton Rail Corridor and learn the intriguing story of Sharifah Rogayah's shrine, visit a privately run bookstore and a co-working facility in an old biscuit factory, and highlight other gems such as the old Tiger Balm factory & Chin Woo Athletic Assn (see pics below). And if that isn't enough, we'll also pop into an exotic store in Teo Hong Rd!
