Join assistant curator, Dominic Low, as he traces the connections between Joseon Korea: Court Treasures and City Life and the Joseon re-imagined today.This Curator Tour includes entry to the special exhibition, Joseon Korea: Court Treasures and City Life and Korean artist Ran Hwang's contemporary installation, Becoming Again; Coming Together, happening from 22 April to 23 July.A minimum of 15 people is needed to proceed. Payment should be made before the tour.About the curatorDominic is an assistant curator at the Peranakan Museum. Previous project includes the first commission for ACM's Contemporary Project gallery: Eng Tow's Grains of Thought (2015). He received his BA in History of Art with Material Studies from University College London. About the exhibitionIntrigued by sets and costumes from Korean historical dramas and films? Then you will want to see actual furniture, fashion, and decorative arts from Korea's Joseon era (1392 - 1897). Spanning some 500 years, Joseon was Korea's last dynasty, and the legacy of its courtly culture and vibrant city life lives on in South Korea today. Treasures from the National Museum of Korea, the National Palace Museum of Korea, and the Daegu National Museum will be displayed for the first time in Singapore.This exhibition will also be accompanied by a work by South Korean contemporary artist Ran Hwang, best known for using pins, buttons, and thread to create large-scale installations.
