Yelle’s music, performances and videos are inspired by popular culture and the technologies that connect our world. Their latest video “Interpassion” is based on the aesthetics of Snapchat, an image messaging app that connects people around the world through quick and instant images that have redefined the way we tell stories and communicate within closely knitted communities. While the group sings in French, they perform around the world and have used technology to overcome language borders. In 2014, the group created a free translator app for their album Completement Fou, which allowed people to translate their songs into different languages in real time. Yelle in Context sees the group speak about their music and technology, and how they use the two to cross geographic distance, language borders and differences in culture to bring the world closer together. Admission is free but limited.
