Stories of all forms have been used throughout the course of history as methods to communicate important lessons, inspire our thoughts and some as pure artistic expressions. From cave paintings to folklore, nursery rhymes and poems, to musicals and plays, the power of stories is a formidable one. Imagine this power placed in the hands of our children! What will their stories tell us and how will their stories affect us?Over the course of eight weeks, the collective worked closely with the children of Art Wonderland (Singapore) and Kulidan Space (Bali) to explore new forms of collaboration that transcend geographical distances. What do children notice in the world around them? How do the stories that form in their minds help them navigate their realities? For this project, the collective attempts to push the boundaries of what storytelling can be and aims to allow Art to become a vital tool for children to communicate their narratives.-Things To Do:Besides the Interactive Showcase, we have included FREE activities that you can do with your family and friends! These activities are suitable for all ages.Activity #1: Dear YouAs the world continues to interact through digital screens and maintain physical distances, the connection we have with our environment has become even more precious and valuable. Inspired by the poem Friends by Abbie Farwell Brown, Dear You is a self-directed activity that invites participants to contemplate on their relationship with their physical environment and its elements, and the role they play as our everyday companions. What are the objects around you that provide a source of comfort in socially-deprived times?Activity #2: Last Time...#lasttime is a self-directed activity that encourages visitors of all ages to contemplate how our experience of the world has changed through everyday lived experiences. What is something that you used to do a lot that you now cannot, seldom or even no longer do? Is there a place you used to go to a lot that you do not have access to anymore? Are there people whom you used to meet with often but are now separated by geographical distances? Our realities are often shaped by memories and experiences of people, places and activities - how do changes in these experiences affect the way we view and create our world?
