In just six feature length films, Jacques Tati has bestowed his brand of cinema upon the popular imagination. The word “Tatiesque” is now commonly invoked to describe a kind of dry, abstract comedy. Film-makers, performers and artists inspired by Tati’s brand of humour run the gamut of mainstream Hollywood (Steven Spielberg), alternative American Cinema (David Lynch), popular television performers (Rowan Atkinson) to the Art House Cinema circuit (Otar Iosseliani). Bringing together local and international film specialists, Tati’s Films is a panel that seeks to explore the legacy of Jacques Tati and his influence that continues to resonate among contemporary film-makers, artists and performers to this day.Stéphane GoudetStéphane Goudet is a French academic and film critic. He is a regular contributor for the French cinema magazine, Positif. Stéphane is also a lecturer of cinema at the Sorbonne and the author of books on cinema, most notably on the films of Jacques Tati. In 2009,  Stéphane co-curated an exhibition devoted to Tati at the Cinematheque Francaise. He is the director of several visual essays and documentaries on Tati, including Everything is Beautiful (2005), Like Home (2013) and A l'americaine (2013).Adam Knee Prior to Adam Knee’s position as Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Media & Creative Industries at the LASALLE College of the Arts, he was the Professor of Film and Media Studies and Head of the School of International Communications at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo China. Between 2008 to 2013, Knee taught at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where he also served as Head of Division of Broadcast and Cinema Studies. Other earlier positions include teaching posts in the United States, Australia, Taiwan and Thailand, where he was a Fulbright grantee at Chulalongkorn University in 2005. Megan Wonowidjoyo Megan Wonowidjoyo is a film lecturer and Programme Coordinator of the Foundation Department at the Multimedia University, Faculty of Cinematic Arts in Johor Malaysia. She  has also been an artist, film-maker and film editor for the past 20 years. Megan’s animation film, Libertas, won the Best Screenplay at the 6th Indonesian Film Festival 2011 Short Film competition and was a finalist at the prestigious AFI Fest 2011. Her distinctive animation, Study of a Singaporean Face, was commissioned for the opening of the National Gallery Singapore in 2015.
