Join us and uncover the rich history of the Tanjong Pagar conservation district, which holds a variety of architectural gems and a treasure trove of tales. The name Tanjong Pagar roughly translates to “Cape of stakes” - perhaps a reference to the palisades of wooden stakes that held up fishing villages in the water back when a fishing village used to exist in the vicinity during the early 19th century. Since then, the area has witnessed a myriad of development throughout the decades, with shophouses of various architectural styles, and even HDB flats standing in the same district today. Meeting Point: Atrium of URA Building *Kindly arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour as the tour will begin on time. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along a bottle of water.
