Travel has always held an air of mystery and discovery for literary artists. Magician-writer Ning Cai, who co-wrote Adventures Of Two Girls, joins two other wordsmiths – Yong Shu Hoong, the editor of the English-language Buy SingLit ticket book, Here Now There After, and Yu-Mei Balasingamchow, the co-editor of In Transit – to delve into travel-writing as a genre, and what travel-writing means to Singaporeans. What do we discover about ourselves on our journeys, and how is this reflected in works by Singaporean authors? Find out in this discussion which will be moderated by critic and poet Gwee Li Sui. It will be accompanied by a reading of excerpts from authors’ books and a book sale by Marshall Cavendish. Some light refreshments will be provided. This event is free.
