She has lived over 10 years in Tokyo as an Educator, Humanitarian Aid Coordinator and as a CSR professional. She co-founded the non-profit Place To Grow (OGA for Aid) in 2011 following the Great East Japan Earthquake, and was named “Recovery Support Ambassador” to the town of Minamisanriku-cho in 2014. In 2016, she joined the multinational retail fashion company H&M as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager for their Japan market. She works in customer and staff engagement in sustainability and developing local actions towards the company’s vision of 100% circular and renewable.Steve Sakanashi (Founder & Director, Sekai Creator)Steve is the founder of Sekai Creator, an entrepreneurship program that trains Japanese university students to become global and entrepreneurial leaders. He is a TEDx speaker and is co-founder of Zubits Japan, the Japanese expansion of a Kickstarter product that eliminates the need to tie shoe laces. As a Japanese American, Steve is passionate about being a bridge for Japan and serves as a Regional Mentor to alumni of the TOMODACHI Initiative. Originally from Los Angeles and Seattle, Steve currently lives in Tokyo with his wife, Joy, and their two young sons, Isamu and Shotaro.Sayaka Watanabe (Co-Founder, WELgee)Sayaka Watanabe is the co-founder of WELgee. WELgee - a combination of “Welcome" and "refugee” - aims to support refugees and asylum seekers who came to Japan by connecting them with high-impact opportunities. WELgee opens the door to Japanese society through homestay programs for refugees. Sayaka is a Master’s Degree student of the University of Tokyo in Human Security studies. During her time at university, she spent time in Bangladesh, where she established her own NGO and worked with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
