It is a collection of his thoughts on contemporary issues, which he submits regularly to The Business Times Views from the Top. Since publishing the books, which raised closed to $1m, all of which were donated to 3 charities, Mr Lim has been invited to speak to companies and universities on numerous occasions. This talk encapsulates the many hard choices he has made in more than 40 years of working life, and 25 years in public service and community service. About the Speaker: Lim Soon Hock has more than 30 years of experience as a board member, CEO, technopreneur and private investor, across a variety of global industries in a highly competitive environment. Post Compaq, where he was the first Asian and Singaporean appointed to the position of Vice President and Managing Director for Asia Pacifc, he has been involved in taking companies public, mergers and acquisitions, as well as consulting for several global MNCs and promising SMEs.Soon Hock continues to sit on the boards of several government agencies, public listed companies and private organisations. He has also spent more than 25 years in public and community service in various appointments and chairmanships. Soon Hock was appointed a Justice of the Peace in May 2008 and is also a Volunteer Mediator with the State Courts. He is currently the Chairman of Halogen Foundation Singapore, where he champions Leadership and entrepreneurship development for disadvantaged youths, as a solution to curb rising elitism and enhancing social mobility.
