Matthieu MertensBiji-Biji InitiativesAfter graduating in electronic engineering, I worked two years as a software engineer for a big company. Looking for an unconventional lifestyle, I quit my job to travel the world and find my way. For two years, I visited different countries and continents such as Europe, South East Asia, South pacific and Australia. I finally ended up in Malaysia where I rented a room with the founders of the Biji-biji Initiative. Seduced by the concepts and the values they were promoting, I quickly joined the project. The various experiences in F&B and volunteering I gain while traveling and my engineering background helped me to adapt and overcome the challenges of setting up a social enterprise. After four years of partnership, I am now heading the TECH department of the Initiative. We are currently developing alternative energy solutions, smart recycling systems, promoting sustainability through art and workshops.Renard SiewSime Darby Holdings BerhadRenard Siew is a Stakeholder Council Member of Global Infrastructure Basel (GIB) where he is involved in developing the Sustainable and Resilient (SuRe) Standard.
