This complimentary talk introduces two of the most popular courses at Harvard University - Adaptive Leadership and Immunity to Change (Adult Development).As leaders progress through their growth, they will face changing circumstances and environments that challenge their own and others' understanding of reality. Both the team and the leader can feel uncomfortable in these uncharted waters and resist needed change. Adaptive leadership helps leaders successfully overcome these discomforts, rise to the demands of leadership, uncover how they hold themselves and their teams back.Combining with Immunity to Change, leaders explore theirs and their teams’ assumptions, feelings and personal beliefs about a particular change process and better understand how their teams may be sabotaging their own efforts, a natural defense against perceived threats. Such internal investigation provides leaders a framework to lead, coach and support their teams more effectively, and to overcome deep-seated, individual challenges. This talk is complimentary.SPEAKERNur Aziz is currently leading Ashoka Malaysia. She was a researcher at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an operations manager and community organiser at two Boston-based grassroot non-profits which she helped turnaround and scale. She also taught three graduate courses at Harvard on entrepreneurship, global education policy and adult human development as a teaching fellow. In her work at Harvard's Program on Equity, Quality and Leadership in Education, she helped coach over 120 UNICEF education chiefs and officers on adaptive leadership, change management and strategic implementation. Due to her accomplishments, she was awarded the prestigious Education Pioneers fellowship in 2014. After 13 years in the US, she returned to Malaysia to become the CEO of a women's innovation platform under the Prime Minister’s office and helped launch the Malaysian Collective Impact Initiative (MCII). Nur is an advisory board member of MCII and Acton Academy of Malaysia. She graduated from Harvard with a Master’s in International Education Policy focused on leadership and entrepreneurship, and from Carnegie Mellon with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, civil engineering and psychology.
