This time, Mr. Baisho Matsumoto will introduce various Japanese music together with members from BAISHOKAI. HIBIKIYA members will be performing Shamisen, Shinobue as well as Taiko. The introductory Shamsien workshop is available for those who are interested.Please feel free to contact us for more details.Mr Baisho MATSUMOTOMr Matsumoto Baisho was born in Nara Prefecture and graduated from Kinki University in Osaka. He established the Japan Folk Song Baisho Association in 1976 and became a renowned master of Akita Shamisen, Tsugaru Shamisen and other styles of folk music. He has performed throughout Japan as well as in countries such as France, Belgium and the United States. He often collaborates with players of various musical instruments to explore new possibilities for traditional Japanese music. He has also performed in Singapore on numerous occasions including the "Soul of Japan" Shamisen Concert held at the Jubilee Hall in March 2010, which was organised by the Japan Creative Centre, Embassy of Japan.
