Come join us as we kick off our bi-monthly mewsic series, in collaboration with Over The Moon 跨乐, that's dedicated to featuring best up and coming Chinese indie acts in Singapore, all of whom will be supported by an ensemble of our 10 lovely kitties.  First up we have Zhao. A singer-songwriter since 2011, Zhao is a Mando-pop/rock enthusiast who has been performing around spaces in Singapore (Timbre, Lepark, Hood Bar) and Malaysia for over five years. Having been mentored by the likes of Charlie Lim and Eugene Yip (MICappella) , expect a great night of original Chinese music with a touch of Western influence. About ZHAOZHAO is a singer-songwriter based in Singapore. Kicking off his music career with a solo showcase in 2011, he became active in the Malaysian indie music scene in the following year. Influenced mainly by Mandarin rock and pop acts such as Mayday, JJ Lin, MEC Band, R. Chord and Show Luo, ZHAO adds a touch of western modern music influences to his own originals. Having played at notable local venues which include The Art House, Barber Shop By Timbre, Lepark, Livehouse, Gillman Timbre, Hood Bar & Cafe, as well as Switch by Timbre, ZHAO chooses to focus on his original compositions as a means of promoting the local Chinese original music scene. Other than being a competent songwriter, ZHAO has also taken up roles in organising for charity concerts — in 2012, he co-organised “Dream Journey Charity Concert” in Malaysia for needy students, and just this year in 2016, he organised “Very Special Art For You And MeCharity Concert” as a changemaker for SG50. His 3rd single, produced by Jerry Poh of GRYD Studio, is set to be released in November 2016; he is also working on a 4-track concept EP planned for 2017.
