On the way to Telok Ayer Street you will learn more about the great diversity of the Chinese community in mid-19th century Singapore, and the spirit of mutual assistance as provided by the Clan Associations. You will visit UNESCO awarded Wak Hai Cheng Bio and Tien Hock Keng temples – great examples of SEA temple architecture - where you will meet gods and goddesses and learn about Chinese religions and symbolism. You will discover that Chinatown was not only a Chinese enclave by visiting one of the oldest Indian Muslim mosques.  While admiring the beautiful facades of shophouses, you will climb to the highest point of Chinatown, Ann Siang Hill, before rounding our tour off at the URA (Urban Redevelopment Authority) with its very informative City Gallery. These walking tours will have a maximum of 10 participants but also need a minimum number of 6 to go ahead; if we don't have enough people we will inform those who have registered (& refund their payment) by the evening before at the very latest. But we hope they will always run!!Please note that the cost of these tours is a little higher as we are keeping the number small. The quality will be however very high; see comments below from our last one at the end of January which was a prototype for this new series:"I would like to thank you for the tour yesterday, it’s been a wonderful morning! Your guide is amazing and so expert about history"."I just wanted to let you know that my aunt had a brilliant time yesterday. She couldn't say enough about the tour and how great your guide was. Thanks so much! I will certainly recommend you"."Your guide was WONDERFUL! We all enjoyed her. I'm looking forward to the next tour."
