South America's most famous classical guitarist, Grand prize winner of the Andrés Segovia International Guitar Competition in Spain, Alexis Vallejos has appeared in the musical capitals of Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Born in Santiago, Chile, Alexis Vallejos studied guitar at the University of Chile in the capital city. He was recognised by the Ministry of Culture and enabled to pursue further studies in guitar at the University of Alicante in Spain. He was subsequently appointed a professor of the University of Mayor, and the University Autónoma in Santiago.

Alexis Vallejos has recorded and presented masterclasses on four continents, and taught scores of aspiring guitar students around the world. He has appeared worldwide as a soloist for international festivals, and with many orchestras.

As one of the most outstanding artists of Chile, he will be representing his nation on the occasion of the 120th year of diplomatic relations between Chile and Japan.
