Christy Smith Facilitator : Dawn HoAn exclusive up-close and personal musical evening with Christy Smith, a veteran jazz bassist and vocalist who spent several decades perfecting and honing his craft in jazz. His achievements have made him an important role model for aspiring musicians in the region through his teachings. Hear from him as he shares with Dawn Ho his journey and views about the art form and the social impact that jazz made in our local music scene to date over complimentary whiskey provided by Naked Grouse. Christy will be performing and discussing tunes at The Music Parlour that were monumental and key to his development as a jazz artist.Don't miss the event! It's about time to discover what it means to be Christy Smith and hear his music!The venue will open 7pmSow starts 7:30pm*2 sets with intermission*Show will end around 9:30pmFacilitator : Dawn Ho (WLJ SG)--------------------------------ABOUT THE ARTIST - CHRISTY SMITHCHRISTY SMITH / BASS AND VOCALS :Christy Smith is a professional international musician, bassist, band leader, arranger, composer and teacher.Graduated from California State Fullerton with a Bachelor in music performance, Christy has performed and worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Sarah Vaughn, Fela Kuti, Billy Higgins, Ernie Watts, Harold Land and many others. These accomplishments were accompanied with years of orchestral and big band experience under the baton of Aaron Copland, Keith Clark, Carmen Dragon, Pat Williams and Mercer Ellington. Since he moved to Singapore in 1993, Christy has performed with several regions artists such as Jeremy Monteiro, Michael Veerapen, Lewis Pragasam, Shiela Majid and many more.
