We believe in the power of collaboration between social entrepreneurs and global citizens from diverse fields to make this world a better place. At our 6th commemoration event, we will be welcoming a social entrepreneur from Fukushima, Japan, who launched his social venture with the vision to create a sustainable economy and society, through promoting the long-standing tradition of Urushi, beautiful Japanese lacquerware, on a global scale after the earthquake. We will also introduce WIT's cross-border activities to instigate social innovations and develop global citizens. After inspiring talks by two speakers, participants will take part in a world-café style dialogue to explore how we can create a resilient civil society in Japan, the US and beyond.Scroll below for speaker bios.
