Woodcut Printmaking Workshop
In this one day intensive course, students will dive into the fundamentals of woodblock printing. From transferring a drawing onto the woodblock, exploring varied carving techniques, to creating ink impression on traditional Japanese fiber paper.
First-time students will be introduced with clear instruction, while students with prior experience will be challenged to further develop techniques and ideas. Detailed demonstrations will guide each step of the process. Relief printing is even a process that can be done in a home studio once you’ve been introduced to the basics!
Instructor Jamie Drobnick graduated with a BA in Fine Art Printmaking from University of California Santa Cruz. She moved to Berlin in 2016 to create, collaborate, teach and explore. She is co-owner and textile designer at Ravel Textiles (raveltextiles.com) based at Obst und Gemüse design collective in Berlin. Space limited to just 6 students in order to keep it small and intimate in the cozy studio space.
