In line with the end-of-year holiday, we hope to celebrate the festive season by having some fun designing and creating our own christmas tree(house)!Participants will be guided in the construction from scratch using miniature boxes, exploring first the 2D geometry of Christmas trees then translating it into a 3D design sculpture. The children are free to design their tree(house) by varying the stacking of the boxes they have at hand. Simple as it may seemed, they will learn to use the boxes as modular system and see how much their design can vary and how "3 dimensional" it can be. As the children are indulged in their design and build process, they will be relating to design principles such as structure, geometry and form. Upon building the structure, participants will then ponder about the void spaces within and are invited to add in their own characters and a touch of light to give the sculpture a breathe of life and turn it into a little tree house!
