As a composer/songwriter, are you bored that your originals are always sounding the same? As a church musician, have you ever wondered how bands come up with different chord progressions for the same song? Classical music teachers, do you wish to stir up harmonic interests in your students who are learning the same pieces each week? This is the hands-on workshop for you to learn more about the world of harmonies. Bring your instruments! Keyboards, drumset, guitar and bass amplifiers are provided.  A basic knowledge of scales and chords is required. Coffee/tea will be provided. ABOUT LYDIA TANA music theory junkie who reads up on harmonies when she is bored, combined with her passion for music education, she has been bringing musical knowledge to bite size and easy understanding for people from both informal and formal musical trainings. The former music director of SMU piano ensemble, core music tutor supervisor at Berklee College of Music, theory mentor at Berklee City Music Programme, ad-hoc music instructor in local Primary Schools and piano instructor in various music schools, has taught students of almost all ethnicities, and in different cities in Boston, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. She identifies herself to be a community musician, working with people not just to develop musical abilities but to make a difference in communities. Founder of non-profit music education initiative, Hashtag Sharp, and currently on a mission to improve Jazz Education in Singapore, she hopes to use her training in Jazz Composition, BA in Music from Berklee College of Music, GCE Music 'A' levels and classical piano training, and her self-taught knowledge on guitar and contemporary piano to enrich composers, songwriters, arrangers, church musicians, instrumentalists, music teachers and music producers' musical works and endeavours.
