For the first time in history, Grab will release their real-time traffic data – via open API - containing driver GPS information translated into traffic statistics like speeds, flows and intersection delays. And we are making this API available in The Grab Hack, a 2-week hackathon aimed at producing and developing applications to mitigate and address traffic and road safety challenges. The Grab Hack is also part of the National Big App Challenge 3.0. Design disruptive solutions for our city’s traffic congestion. Create innovative journey planners. Forecast and visualize urban movement. There is no limit to the types of novel and breakthrough solutions you can develop in the Grab Hack. How does it work? This is not a 24/36-hour hackathon. You will be given 2 weeks to develop your solutions or applications. The top 10 teams will then pitch in front of industry experts on 3 November 2016. You stand to win lucrative prizes and continue to commercialize your application. You need to use traffic data from Grab’s open API. In addition, you can also marry Grab’s data with other datasets to produce your minimum viable product (MVP). Who can participate?
