=====================Charlie Ang is the Founder and CEO of
FutureCraft, a future-oriented consulting and training firm. He is a speaker,
trainer and consultant in the area of futures
thinking, innovation and disruptive technologies. His professional agenda
is to help every executive, engineer and entrepreneur in Singapore adopt an
Innovator mindset and win in the Innovation Economy.
Charlie is concurrently the Chief
Innovation Officer at First Media Group, a regional design, communications
and educational group. At First Media, Charlie is developing an innovative
culture and experimenting with breakthrough innovations in education, media,
and marketing sectors.
As an entrepreneur, Charlie co-founded several start-ups, including a high tech venture that raised S$ 5 million
capital and grew to 80 staff. He has a rewarding corporate stint; as the
current CIO of First Media Group and former regional Vice President of one of
the largest environmental companies in Asia.
Charlie was previously a trade diplomat with the Singapore government. He headed the Trade & Commercial
Department of the Singapore embassies in Indonesia and Philippines while
concurrently serving as the Centre Director of International Enterprise
Singapore in these countries. During his 5-year stint in the government, he was
recognized with several accolades at the civil service, ministry and agency
levels, including the Star Service Award, GEMS Prize (Top IES Winner), and
Service Excellence Award (Top Winner).
He received his MBA from the NUS Business School and BSc (First Class) Honours
in Computer Science from The University of Manchester, UK. Charlie was trained in futures thinking and scenario planning at Oxford
University’s Said Business School.
Charlie was an elected Vice President of
the IE Singapore Society (which represents former management and
professional staff of Trade Development Board & IE Singapore) and is an Advisor to the Start-Up@ Singapore, a
world-class business plan competition and entrepreneurship resource hub in
Singapore. A member of World Future Society, he is also the Founding President of The Innovator’s
Institute, a professional development center, global expert resource and
peer support network for innovation managers and practitioners in the South
East Asia region. He writes regularly on innovation and future perspectives and
his articles has been published in the local media, such as the Singapore
Business Review and The Straits Times. ======================= David Wee is the
Founder and CEO of Asia Speakers Bureau (ASB) and DW Associates Pte Ltd, a
company empowering creativity and knowledge. David has achieve a track record for
bringing a new fast moving consumer goods company from zero to S$8M turnover and
personally opening new accounts with all major department stores, and chain
stores in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Thailand. With
more than 20 years of global business development and marketing experiences in
fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), Branding and OEM, he had the opportunity to
conduct businesses in 18 geographic markets and on most international consumer
fairs in Europe, USA, Australia and Asia. David prior career has been performing
front-line, business development functions across a wide spectrum of industries
including Consumer Health & Beauty
Care, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Lifestyle, Fashion, Household, Toys,
Office Supplies, Stationery, Corporate Gifts, Car Accessories, Office Furniture
and Commercial Properties. These
responsibilities have included positions as CEO, General Manager, Senior
Manager - Sales & Marketing, Operations Manager, Financial Controller and
Internal Auditor. David is Spirit of Enterprise Award
2009 Nominee. He has served two
terms as President of the Singapore
Institute of Management, Marketing Executives Group. He was recently appointed
as Advisor for The Business School of Management Development Institute of Singapore
(MDIS), Academic Year 2013/2014 David is the originator of Entrepreneurial leadership and creating new space in a crowded market™, and
he is regularly invited to speak in global
