A new event at Esplanade's da:ns festival; Coffee Chats is a rare opportunity to have an intimate conversation with a dance artist or practitioner.In this session, be in conversation with Ezekiel Oliveira on Writing about Dance: The Why and How? to understand and appreciate the necessity to not only watch but to write about dance. Come prepared for an engaging session at Coffee Chats.How does it work?In each session, up to three people get 20 minutes to ask questions and dialogue with artists and practitioners. Due to the limited slots available, please be at the venue 10 minutes before the event. In the situation that you are not present, we will give your slot to another on the waiting list.To be placed on the waiting list, please email us at dansfestival@esplanade.com.About the Conversationalist Ezekiel Oliveira is the creative director of FiveLines - a contemporary dance initiative in Singapore. Originally from Portugal, he graduated from London Contemporary Dance School and has performed works by Tamzin Fitzgerald, Hofesh Schechter, Stephan Koplowitz, Balbir Singh and Fleur Darkin, amongst others. Since the inception of FiveLines two years ago, he choreographed Skin -A Choreographic Response for Singapore Art Museum, Vent for Maya Dance Theatre amongst other choreographic works for schools and universities.
