But, what exactly does it mean to be sustainable? And how can we engage in a way that makes sense for us?This talk aims to reacquaint participants with the green sector. In unpacking the topic with a fresh lens by using the Home, Truly special exhibition as a starting point, we hope to bring new perspectives on the topic and bridge the gap between participants’ awareness of environmental issues that could be relevant to them. This programme is suitable for all participants from ages 16 and above and is held in conjunction with the exhibition Home, Truly: Growing Up with Singapore, 1950s to the Present. Price is inclusive of virtual curator tour of Home, Truly special exhibition and facilitated conversations.   Biography of FacilitatorsThe Common Ground seeks to facilitate the critical partnership between people, public and private sectors. As part of The Thought Collective, it is driven by the goal of supporting a generational shift towards a braver, kinder and stronger Singapore, and building up the city's social and emotional capital. Common Ground does this through the work of developing the capacity of community builders, facilitating cross-sector stakeholder collaborations, and encouraging ground-up social innovation. Just Dabao is a food sustainability social enterprise that aims to tackle the food waste issue. Through their platform, F&B eateries can sell their perfectly edible surplus food to consumers at a discount. Just Dabao's concept offers a triple-win solution: merchants get to reduce food wastage, customers get to save surplus food at a good price, and the environment benefits! Since they started in late 2020, Just Dabao has benefitted some 200 eateries, home-based businesses and saved about 800kg of food!Tips for the Best Programme Experience Please ensure you have Zoom on your PC or laptop.
