The concept of UX Designer was created in the late 90s and now growing as an actual job position. Here at CIDE, we believe that design plays an important role in developing an awesome product, so we're aiming to build the UX Community here in Malaysia and raise awareness on the concept of UX. Part of UX Design uses "Design Thinking" as a methodology to tackle problems and challenges in the field. But what constitutes design thinking? Come join us as we go through design thinking within a 1.5 hour workshop, created by Stanford d.School as "The Virtual Crash Course in Design Thinking", it's essentially a 90 minute video-led cruise through the design thinking methodology. This is a casual workshop is not professionally certified. You can find out more about it through here. All the resources are available online, but you can't do it alone! So come join us for a night of learning and meeting new people, through unleashing your inner child and build fun prototypes like arts & crafts, where you will know a stranger well enough to get him a gift!Agenda:7.30pm : Registration & Networking8.15pm : Introduction to Workshop8:30pm : Design thinking workshop9:45pm : Closing & Networking10.30pm: Doors closePlease bring these items to the workshop (for fun purposes):- Your own pens and pencils (or crayons/colour pencils/colour sharpies) to write.- Any recyclable item like plastic bottles/paper/cardboard, whatever you can find around your workplace/university/home.- Scissors, paper cutters or any tools you would like to use to build a prototype(It's simple don't worry).- Any materials that can be used for arts & crafts like color paper, aluminum foil and more! ( For prototyping)- (Optional but should) Your creativity hat.- (Totally Optional but don't) Your serious hat.FAQ:Should I attend this event even though I'm not a designer?Of course! In reality, you're probably already doing it without realizing. Design thinking benefits all fields, from developers to sales to marketing, so come and learn some new tips and tricks you can use to improve your skills!How do I get to the venue?Through public transport, you can get down at KLCC LRT, then walk towards the entrance of Convention Center, then use the walkway to walk towards Jalan Perak. When you get down from the walkway, it's the immediate building on your right.As for drivers, you can park at KL Live Center/ Menara UOA then walk towards Menara Perak (our venue).Will there be food?Yes! Pizza, tea, coffee and water of course.Can I NOT bring the items to the workshop?Aw come on, be a fun sport. I promise you won't regret it.Can I pay at the door?Unfortunately, no.
