ハワイ大学Medical Oncologist　Dr. Ken Sumida をリモートで講師に迎え、JrSrのプロジェクト、HMEP: Hawaii Medical Education Programの一環として、オンラインで特別講義を開催します。Ken Sumida先生はハワイ大学卒業、現在ハワイ大学Cancer Center、Kuakini Medical Center、Queen's Medical CenterなどでHematology/Oncologyの診療等に従事。また学生教育・臨床研修・海外医師研修・医学交流などを通じて後続の育成にも積極的に関与しています。Sumida先生はfriendlyで、講義はわかりやすくinformativeですので、少しでも興味があれば是非ご参加ください。なお、講義および質疑応答は英語になります。【内　容】Local regional management of cancers has evolved from surgery, radiation or both, to the same followed by adjuvant systemic therapy, to trimodality therapies incorporating neo-adjuvant radiation and systemic therapy to facilitate surgical success and to improve overall outcomes. The range of cancers now treated with multiple modalities and up front systemic therapy is diverse.In addition, patient selection is crucial in determining the appropriate use of a comprehensive program. As our population ages, we need to be aware of the assessments that are important to ensure optimal outcome. At the conclusion of this presentation, the attendee will:1. be familiar with some of the tumor types that are currently treated with multiple modalities. 2. understand the rationale for up front systemic therapy3. be familiar with the treatment decisions in the geriatric population4. gain awareness of the tools available to assist with decision making in the geriatric population【参加対象】研修医、医学生　一般の医師も可能【ドレスコード】カジュアルでOK【講師プロフィール】Kenneth N. M. Sumida, MD Born and raised in Hawaii. Attended the University of Hawaii, John A Burns School of Medicine receiving dual MD and MS in Pharmacology. Residency training was at the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. Spent an extra year as one of the Chief Medical Residents. Fellowship at The Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation with an emphasis on immunotherapy/ targeted therapy of B-cell malignancies. Returned to Hawaii in 1989 and joined the University of Hawaii, Dept of Medicine and also joined the practice of another faculty member. Appointed Director of Medical Education at Kuakini Medical Center, part of the UH system, and Associate Program Director of the University of Hawaii Internal Medicine Residency Program, in 1991. Presently an Associate Professor of Medicine, UH, JABSOM; DME and core clinical faculty of the Department of Medicine.
