What causes us to feel fear or anticipation when watching a scene? What is synaesthesia? What are commonly used objects / tools / ideas to create these relational experience between what we hear and see? As part of the programme’s interest to bridge and bring closer the experience of “listening” to films, the open workshop is a platform to generate discussions and offer ideas / interactions between practitioners of sound and audiences. Presentations will take on various forms, from performances to talks. Artists involved in the project will give insights to their process, methods and personal philosophies in organising the abstract nature of sound. Participants and audiences are encouraged to listen, engage and challenge the way we presently perceive our environment and experiences through sound, and more importantly, how we can learn from one another the subjectivity of our personal interpretations of the world we live in.
