Although both these names survive in their movie theatres, only the Shaw studios still exist - albeit as a testament to the past - while the Cathay studios have long since disappeared.In recent years the movie industry here has enjoyed something of a revival with many Singaporean directors such as Jack Neo, Eric Khoo, Royston Tan, Anthony Chen and Ken Kwek releasing films to not only national, but also international, acclaim.Our tour will visit the Shaw Studios, some sites from movies made here, the Cathay museum and will end at the Projector cinema for a chat with a film producer who also helps to run the SIFF (Singapore International Film Festival).
