But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.’We all have genius within us. Yet knowing you have a genius within doesn't make picking up a guitar or a paintbrush any easier. On the contrary, if we believe that "art" is for "artists" only, we live only as an observer and dreamer. On Wednesday night, you'll hear how these artists found their way to let art into their lives. Unique stories of self-expression, we promise you’ll leave inspired to unleash your own genius!OPEN MIC - Join us to share your genius with a warm and supportive crowd! A poem, a song, a cover of your favorite tune…we want to hear it! Just book your open mic spot here:http://goo.gl/forms/28h9fQk3OzfBTteZ2 Join us for a shot of creative inspiration, for soulful conversations with old and new friends over coffee/drinks, and for a night that’ll inspire you to unleash your own genius. Come alone, or bring friends. Either way, you’ll meet a new crowd to mingle with! And as always, feel free to join the artists afterwards to freestyle and create fun music on the fly!FEATURING ARTISTS //Poems & Music by Olivia Mercado, with Johnathan Lee:Yogi. Salsaholic dance freak. Painter. Dreamer. Singer. Endless energy. Great conversationalist. Brains and Passion and a love for motorbikes. Olivia is a life lover, always seeking for experiences to take  her to the next level - whether it’s languages, learning new dance moves or writing poems, she believes in expansion and stepping out of the dimensions of her comfort zone. While born/raised in Bolivia, she started exploring the world at 27, first teaching Art in Vietnam, the path that led her to move to KL in 2012. After a Masters in Education, and teaching in KL, her passion for yoga and change then led her to Mindvalley’s Online Yoga Platform, where she currently works. When Olivia isn’t teaching yoga, you can find her dancing Kizomba, laughing it up with friends, hopping on a plane off to explore some idyllic island or slow-sipping a single malt whiskey, attending a stand-up comedy show, art event or just chilling by the pool with music and a great book. At Gaslight, you’ll see her sharing some of her poems and voice for the crowd :)Johnathan Lee:Johnathan is professional guitarist and Oud player from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
