In 2009 Yat sold Outblaze’s messaging division to IBM, which used it to build IBM’s LotusLive iNotes to deliver business-class email services to SMEs (the transaction resulted in the establishment of the first cloud lab in Hong Kong by a major multinational technology company). Yat is a director for TurnOut Ventures, a partnership between Outblaze and Turner Entertainment that owns and manages the hugely popular rabbit character Tuzki. Yat is also co-founder and director of Animoca, a major developer and publisher of mobile games, and of Animoca Brands, an ASX-listed spinoff that focuses on branded mobile games. He is founder of ThinkBlaze, the research arm of Outblaze dedicated to investigating socially meaningful issues in technology. Yat has earned numerous accolades including Global Leader of Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the DHL/SCMP Awards.
