Salah satu format dari rangkaian program tersebut acara hackathon ( Lomba membuat prototipe dari sebuah ide menjadi produk yang dikebut semalam ala kejar tayang) yang berjudul SEA Makerthon 2016 Jakarta yang berlangsung dua hari pada 10-11 September 2016 digarap barengan dengan South East Asian Makerspace Network (SEAMNET)Dalam perencanaannya kebanyakan perlombaan (Hackathon, Kompetisi, Kontes, dsb) menempatkan diri sebagai titik puncak sebuah pencapaian individu, kelompok, komunitas beserta program dan aktivitasnya. Namun tidak demikian apa yang ada di pemikiran MakeDoNia ( Makerspace and Innovation Hub), LabTanya (dengan #KotaTanpaSampah), KeKini ruang bersama ( Coworking space), dan Unjukin Labs ( Social Innovation Ventures). Kami mendengarkan banyak perspektif juga cerita di keseharian yang mampu mendorong kesadaran yang dibutuhkan untuk mencapai masa depan lestari. Kesadaran yang tidak melulu datang dari narasi dan cerita-cerita besar yang muncul dari perlombaan beserta penghargaannya namun juga aktivitas kemasyarakatan yang sederhana dalam melakukan aksi nyata yang memberi dampak dan mendorong perubahan tatanan masyarakat dan ekonomi. How big should my team be? Teams are advised to be in groups of 2-5 people. *Please use the profile sheets to profile yourself at the ticketing form. Participants ideally should have different skill sets when forming a team.These skill sets include (but not exhaustive): - Maker - Designer -Programmer -Entrepreneur 3. How many categories are there? There are no categories for this competition. It is an open competition where students and adults can participate in the same team. Students should be minimum 15 years of age. 4. How long will it be? The entire makerthon will be a 32-hour long program. It starts at 8.00am on Saturday 10 September 2016 and finishes at 4.00pm on the Sunday 11 September 2016. The makerthon will start on 08.00am and finish 21.00pm per day. 5. Can I sign up as an individual if I do not have a team yet? A: Yes, sure. We will help you form a team. 6. Can I participate in a Makerthon outside of my city area? Yes, you may. Please note that you may sign up for only One City. FIRST AWARD/FIRST PRIZE -Opportunity to compete with the different teams across ASEAN at the Grand Finale at InnovASEAN in Singapore in October 2016 for the Grand Prize (The winners will be competing with 9 other teams for the Grand Prize at InnovASEAN. They will compete with their built up prototypes) -Opportunity to pitch to investors & join the Apprenticeship programme by SEAMNET partners.In the Apprenticeship programme, the winning team will be incubated by the local makerspace to improve on their prototype. 10. What do I need to bring ? Yourself! That is the most important. A survival kit list will be provided to everyone who registered closer to the event date. You may also wish to bring additional materials, tools or equipment to support you in your prototyping needs. 11. I'm not a programmer/ coder/ maker/designer/ do not have much experience in such an event, can I still join the makerthon? Yes you can! Prior experience is not necessary (although they will be useful). If you have an idea and are passionate to translate it to reality, you are most welcomed to join! Bring an open mind! 12. Who owns the solutions (Intellectual Property) after the hackathon? Participants will fully own their solution after the hackathon. If the participants have the intention to further the project, they can approach their local makerspace for advice. 14. Are participants free to use their own hardware ? Participants will be provided a set of hardware kit for their use during the hackathon. 15. What’s the age limit for this hackathon? The minimum age is 15 but there is no maximum age limit! 16. Is there an information session for registered participants? Yes, the Technical Workshops will be held on 10 Sept 2016. 17. What technologies/ equipment will be available for use? All teams will have access to electronics prototyping kits/ equipment such as 3D Printer and etc…. 18. What are Masterclasses? Are they intensive courses in the SEA Makerthon 2016? Masterclasses are 45 min to 1 hour classes that aim to provide participants with just enough information they need to build their prototypes and business idea. This sessions are “crash courses” that enable participants to pick up new skills and help them improve on their prototypes. Some of the classes include Digital Fabrication (3D Printing), Business Model Canvas, Business Pitching, Electronics (eg:Arduino Basics), Sustainable Business Models. 19. Will there be any facilitators on hand to answer any of my questions or help teams if they face difficulty? Yes! There will be mentors which will be on hand throughout the entire makerthon. These mentors are specialized in Electronics, Business, Fabrication (add more if needed) and will be able to assist you. They will not be able to help you build your prototype but they will be happy to advise and troubleshoot any problems for you. 20. What are the materials and resources provided? The SEA Makerthon 2016 is a hands-on competition. Participants must develop prototypes that present their proposals to the challenge statements provided. Teams will be supplied with the tools and materials necessary for prototyping. *Participants may bring their own materials and tools not supplied in the list above, so as to enable them to effectively build their prototypes.
