Learning sign language can help improve motor skills, build communication skills and increase the ability to focus. She picked up sign language from one of her hearing impaired students 7 years ago, with the intention to bring inclusiveness into the class. This experience gave her deep beliefs that differences are not barriers to teaching and learning, but the willingness to bridge that gap.Selina Ooi is a Multimedia Designer at KDU University College. She is the first hearing-impaired student graduated with a degree in Interface Design majoring in Creative Multimedia from Multimedia University, Cyberjaya. She’s an active blogger and the founder of “Deaf Boleh! Malaysia”, a community portal news that reach out to the deaf community in Malaysia.
