What can we learn from Australia?”Our next SINCA online session is scheduled for Sunday, June 20, connecting again with people in Sydney, Australia. 　Compared with Australia where Tele-medicine has made considerable progress, partly due to Covid-19, Online diagnosis (part of Tele Medicine) has had difficulty making progress in Japan. 　Not only that size difference(Australia benefits from Tele medicine as its area is huge), however, but also various issues such as hesitancy to Tele medicine and lack of institutional set up hinder the progress in Japan.  Hospitals have been at capacity due to rapid rise of Covid-19 patients and appointment for other medical issues has been difficult to set in Japan. Visit to hospitals when you do not feel good is difficult for ordinary people because of concern about infections.  Do you think Telemedicine including online diagnosis should be promoted in Japan?  Let us discuss the outlook for Tele medicine in Japan with the help of Australian experience. Cultural, social, and institutional issues and differences may be relevant. We will start the session at 8 pm (JST) connecting with people in Sydney. Health care is a good topic as it is relevant to all of us and provides good context to compare Australia and Japan.
