Come and meet the youth who are aspiring applied theatre practitioners as they share how they have incorporated theatre into the community setting. The event will be facilitated by Aisha Shaik, Co-founder and Managing Director of Shoes Theatre. Shoes TheatreShoes Theatre is an applied theatre collective founded in 2014 by Aisha Shaik and Saleha Jubir. Shoes Theatre firmly believes in the power of drama to influence thought and create action. Focusing on the participatory nature of drama, its programmes explore local issues, in hopes to impact a positive change. Aisha ShaikAisha is Co-founder and Managing Director of Shoes Theatre. She is also a graduate of the Diploma in Applied Drama and Psychology course in Singapore Polytechnic. She has been involved in community arts projects with companies like Shoes Theatre, Artsolute, BABES Pregnancy Crisis and AWARE. She is a member of Tapestry Playback Theatre and is currently a freelance Drama Educator.This workshop is organised in collaboration with Noise Singapore.
