Our monthly Digital Marketing [DM] Insights is organized by Lithan Academy, at Red Dot Ventures (Launchpad @ one-north).

Our insights' topics revolved around significance of e-commerce, social media, conventional and contemporary means of digital advertising in Singapore and some shared examples in the region. 2) How Digital Marketing Affects by the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) in Singapore?

Digital marketing (DM) is the promotion of products or brands via one or more forms of electronic media. In doing so, digital marketers monitor things like what is being viewed, how often and for how long, sales conversions, what content works and doesn't work.

Whether you realized it or not, the act of "monitoring" can only be achieved by collecting personal data of an individual, about his behavior on the media platform used for DM. For the collection of personal data, you need to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) in Singapore. Failure to comply can land you a hefty fine (up to $1m) and/or even a jail term.
