It manifests itself in more forms than one. Where there is happiness, it is Love, where there is sorrow, it is Love. Even when it seems hopeless, Love is still somewhere. Love is so great, it inspires artists to live, create beautiful art, music and literature. The singing of Stabat Mater is traditionally associated with the Catholic celebration of Lent. It tells the sorrow Mary felt at the several stations of the cross. This concert however is anything but sorrow. It instead celebrates a mother’s love for her child. Included in this unique program is a reading from late Singaporean poet Arthur Yap’s Singlish poem on two Singaporean mothers’ love for their children. So come explore these beautiful settings by Scarlatti and Pergolesi with soprano Wendy Woon and mezzo-soprano, Angela Hodgins with the ADDO Chamber Orchestra as we bring them to you on 18 September, Sunday, 5pm at the School of the Arts (SOTA) Concert Hall. Standard Tickets at $25.00 each are available from http://StabatMater.Peatix.com. Enjoy a 20% discount when you purchase a bundle of 4 tickets. See you there!*UPDATE*Online ticket sales will be closed. However you can still purchase the tickets at the front house.
