At this event, SMECentre@SMCCI will be sharing on iSPRINT (Increase SME Productivity with Infocomm Adoption & Transformation). iSPRINT allows SMEs to seek and gain support to enhance their business capabilities for business growth and sustainability. David Yap (Digital Strategy Consultant, SME Portal) Serving the business community Since 2006 as the EnterpriseOne Portal, The SME Portal is the first stop for Singapore SME owners and aspiring entrepreneurs looking for information, tools and services that can help them build sustainable and competitive businesses. Through collaborations between SPRING Singapore, government agencies and over 60 industry partners, the Portal now offers useful government and commercial information and services for SMEs at various business stages. This includes centralised information on government assistance schemes, industry insights and exclusive offers on business solutions. The SME Portal also serves as a point of access to key government e-services such as GeBiz Alerts and other commercial resources. Lionel Chan (Principal Manager, Assisting employers to be manpower lean and develop a strong Singaporean core)SMEs could develop a strong Singaporean core in a manpower-lean economy through enhanced programmes under Adapt & Grow announced by the Ministry of Manpower. In addition to sharing on employment facilitation assistance for SMEs, WDA will share on a cost free way to assess job seekers suitability via a short term, on-the-job training under Reskilling for Jobs Programme – Work Trial before offering permanent positions to unemployed locals. To assist mature Singaporeans PMETs who may face greater challenges in securing a job, WDA will also present on the Career Support Programme (CSP). The CSP encourages employers to tap on the wealth of experience that mature Singaporean PMETs can bring to the workplace. Employers who employ mature workers, who have been unemployed for six months or more, in mid-level jobs that pay at least $4000, will be given wage support. Shaun Hou (Deputy Director, P-Max Place and Train Programme)The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) will introduce the P-Max Place-and-Train Programme which aims to facilitate the entry of PMETs into suitable SME jobs and help SMEs better cope with the challenges of talent recruitment in an increasingly tight labour market. Upon successful completion of the programme, SMEs will be eligible for a one-time Assistance Grant of $5,000.
