Watercolour Workshop with IsabelleWatercolour
painting suffers a reputation of being a difficult technique because
of the lack of control over it. Let Isabelle introduce you to the
possibilities of the technique, and show you how watercolour paint
can become your best creation buddy.
With
something a tiny bit bigger than a pack of cigarettes, you got all
you need to give life to your doodles, color your wandering ideas,
give colourful sketches to your collaborators in a few minutes but
also keep beautiful memories of your daily journeys.
It’s
time to drop Instagram filters from your personal touch! You do not
need to know how to draw nor paint to start exploring watercolour
possibilities. If you are an accomplished artist, you will find in
the technique the opportunity to develop your observations
skills
everywhere, play with color transparencies and get your artistic
skills outside the studio !
During
this 3hrs-workshop, we will review material and styles together. If
you have original artwork to share, please bring it! We will then
practice 9 basic techniques before handling a guided session of
drawing /watercoloring. The last part will be dedicated to free
practice during which Isabelle will go around sharing personalised
tips with you depending on your practice :)
Materials will be provided, or you can also bring your own. Spaces are limited, so book yourself a spot!
ISABELLE
Born
and raised in Paris, Isabelle has long been hesitating between Arts
and Sciences.
She
picked Sciences, but spent all her free time wandering around Paris
greatest museums and exhibitions. Seeking to unravel mysteries of
aesthetic, she studied Neurosciences at the Ecole Normale Supérieure
with an interest on how the brain perceives and creates. She also
traveled as much as possible through all Europe, USA and China.
After
completing her PhD, she took the road, for long this time, travelled
all South-East Asia as a solo backpacker. During that journey, she
developed her own style of watercolour sketching to keep her
memories. Her travel diaries Sticky
Mind & Wandering Thoughts
led her to decorate a guesthouse, settle on the beautiful island of
Koh Lanta, Thailand and meet great creative people.
She
now splits her time between guiding people for underwater journeys
and making art on land with techniques as various as watercolour, oil
painting and coffee-modelling.
For
the next few weeks, you can meet her at The Hatchery Place. Come &
join for a cup of coffee ! Great things always happen over a cup of
coffee.
