Due to the direction of this performance work, we recommend that you participate in a calm and private space such as your own room. Our bodies, which have become flat, are gathering on the screen to communicate with each other.　In light of this current situation, I am thinking about how to create "highly empathetic" or in other words, "high resolution" body images and how to share them with others. In other words, how can we create a "high resolution" image of the body and share it with others?　The first step in this performance is to recapture my own body as an image on the screen. It is to tear off a part of our own body we empirically acquired and to create a distance between them. Then we exchange the alienated part of myself with someone else's body, and explore in both directions how close we can get to the anonymous body that is not my own.　This process could be described as trying to create a visualization of ASMR. For me, ASMR is the high-resolution stimulus just before becoming a music. In other words, it's about how to create anonymous, primitive, contradictory images of the body that are not narratives, but have a high degree of physical empathy like ASMR, or in other words, before they become personal.　If the first half of the performance is dedicated to what I mentioned before, the second half is the practice of how we can communicate with distant objects in an offline space.　The resolution of someone's body on the screen may be lower than that of the person sitting next to them in real space. Paradoxically, however, the lower resolution may happen the more vivid empathy of that image.　Even if the object is an intimate being that you can touch, as a material, it is an absolute other, and its image will never have enough resolution to understand inside the surface. It is the same with our own body. Our own resolution may be lower than that of others in front of you, and the resolutions are unstable like a thermography, changing day by day.　Even if it is impossible to raise the resolution to a satisfactory level,  the attempts to raise the resolution of others and the self, and the attitude of being close to something that is distant and unknowable, is one of the most important things that should be valued in today's society.　I named this performance "blooming dots" in the hope that such an attempt will make the tiny pixels that compose the image of the human body bloom and smell of something beyond the images.【本作『blooming dots』について　敷地理】　新型コロナウイルスが世界的に流行する中、 身体的接近を避けるためオンライン上でのコミュニケーションが増加しました。画面上には平面になった私たちの身体が集合し、意思疎通を図っています。　こうした現在の状況を踏まえ、＜共感度の高い＞、言い換えれば「＜解像度の高い＞身体のイメージをどう生み出し、どの様に他者と共有するか」を考えています。ディスプレイ上の解像度の落ちた身体に、私たちはどの様に寄り添うことができるのでしょうか。　このパフォーマンスではまず始めに、自分の身体を画面上のイメージとして捉え直し、経験的に獲得した自分の身体からその一部を引き剥がして距離を生み出すことを観客と一緒に試みます。それから他者化した自分の一部を匿名の誰かの身体のそのイメージと交換し、自分でない匿名の身体にどのくらい自分を接近させられるかを双方向から探ります。　このプロセスは音楽で例えるならば、視覚的なASMRを作ろうとすることと言えるかもしれません。音楽になる手前の解像度の高いプリミティブな音としての刺激が私にとってのASMRです。つまりそれは、ASMRの様な身体的共感度の高い、言い換えれば個人的なものとなる手前の、ナラティブなものではない、匿名で解像度が高い矛盾した身体のイメージをどう作るかということだと考えています。　こうした前述したものへの時間が前半だとしたら、後半ではオンライン空間から離れて、オフライン上の上演空間でどの様に他人の身体といった距離のあるものと意思疎通を図れるかを探ります。　画面上の誰かの身体は、実空間で隣に座る相手よりも解像度が落ちるかもしれません。しかし逆説的に、イメージの解像度が落ちることでそのイメージの共感度は鮮やかになるかもしれません。　たとえ対象が肌の触れ合う親密な存在だとしても物質として絶対的他者であり、そのイメージが大部分の理解を生むほどの解像度を持つことはあり得ません。それは自分の身体でも同じです。日々変わり続ける、サーモグラフィーの様な私にとっての私の解像度は目の前にいる他者よりも低いかもしれないのです。　満足な次元まで解像度をあげることが不可能だとしても、私はこの他者や自己への解像度を引き上げようとする試み、この距離のある分からないものへと寄り添おうとする態度は、現代社会でいま最も大切にされるべきもののひとつだと考えています。　本作では、このような試みが身体のイメージを作り出す小さなピクセルたちを開花させ、そのもの自身を超える何かを匂わせることを期待し、『blooming dots』と名付けました。 ◯ Osamu Shikichi (choreographer/dancer)He is mainly involved in performance and dance works using the human body as a medium. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts as an exchange student, graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Musashino Art University, and completed his master's degree at Tokyo University of the Arts (New Media). In the impossible of seeing myself from the outside, he creates works that focus on capturing one's sense of reality through another human being who is materially closest to myself. In the process he is interested in approaching a critical state of a human body, confirming and blurring its boundaries.
