MaGIC Academy: Product Development


Once you have a solid idea and a good product design, the next step is product development. The trick is to build a good working relationship with your tech team and to understand at least the basics of required technology. You will need to recruit suitable technical talent and have a solid implementation strategy. Join us for a crash course on relevant software, important tools and technical team management.

Speaker(s) Description

Reza started coding at the age seven, he began reading Fortune and Forbes at twelve, he co-founded the widely popular Malaysian teen portal terato.com at the age of 17, and he started Terato Tech at 25. Terato now has grown its team of two at the beginning to a forty people at this time. In between his busy schedules to run businesses as well as speaking engagements, Reza has discovered a new hobby of 3D printing. Reza is a founder at Terato Tech Sdn Bhd . Reza also co- founded Silent Mode Sdn Bhd which builds the Slurp! POS. Reza also sit on the board of Amanz Media Sdn Bhd & Accurve Studio Sdn Bhd.

Zara began her career in tech as an electrical engineer with Motorola Malaysia. Her interest in Apple technology has convinced her to join Terato Tech in 2009 as a product developer when the company has just started to use Apple SDK for mobile apps development. As Head of Enterprise App Development at Terato Tech, Zara is responsible for developing apps which have reached millions of Malaysians. She has attended the Apple WWDC twice in 2010 and 2014. Zara has built app for enterprises such as CIMB Bank, Maybank, Bank Rakyat & Dominos and truly understand transferring business requirement into a functional piece of software.

Yuen Hoe is a long time programmer and all round free-spirited geek and tech enthusiast. His interests has taken him across a variety of endeavours, ranging from tutoring programming classes, dabbling in computer science academic research in the National University of Singapore, building comprehensive software systems for voluntary welfare organisations in Singapore, developing features for enterprise software products at IBM, planning fun and attractive computer programming curricula for secondary school kids and contributing code in his free time to Free Software projects like KDE and Thunderbird.

Nowadays he is the technical co-founder of MomoCentral.com alongside Su Yuen, where he spends his days architecting their technical infrastructure, vanquishing marauding bugs, and generally musing about making cross-internet client-developer engagements less painful and more fruitful.
