A zine is a small, self-published booklet that falls somewhere between a newsletter and magazine. Learn the basics of zine making with local illustrator Darel Seow, and create a personal zine that you can use to share your story with others.About Darel SeowDarel is a visual storyteller who illustrates the tales of the natural world through his unique brand of wry wit and whimsy. An illustration graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (UK), he believes in the draw of storytelling as a means of engagement, creating experiences that simultaneously excite and educate. Particularly interested in museums and culture, he has previously worked with the British Museum, National Museum of Singapore, ACM, and other cultural institutions to encourage learning through the power of imagination and play.  Frequently Asked Questions1. How many family members can attend this workshop? Please register for a ticket for each member of your family. Family members will be able to share a screen, but individual screens are recommended for the best experience! 2. What will I need to prepare for the workshop? Please prepare A4 paper, and your desired art materials (e.g. colour pencils, markers, crayons, coloured paper, scissors, glue) before the workshop begins.Please ensure you have a Zoom account and app downloaded and installed onto your desktop, tablet, or mobile phone, with working camera and audio functions. The app is free to download here. A day before the programme starts, a link will be sent to each registered participant with the meeting ID and password. Please download the Zoom app before the programme to prevent delays.3. How old must I be to participate in this workshop? This workshop is designed to be family friendly but recommended for ages 8 and up. 8–10 year olds are encouraged to be accompanied by their parents or guardians.  4. What technical equipment do I need to participate? You will need the Zoom app downloaded on a desktop, tablet, or mobile phone, with working camera and audio functions. Please download the Zoom app before the programme to prevent delays. On the day of the workshop, you are also encouraged to switch on your camera when interacting with the facilitator. 5. Why is there a refundable deposit of $10? As workshop spaces are highly limited, the deposit ensures that the instructor’s time is maximised and that all registered participants will attend.
